Objectives

  • Increase the participant's knowledge to better perform and/or interpret soft tissue point-of-care ultrasound examinations.
  • Recognize ultrasound characteristics associated with various types of soft tissue abscess, cellulitis, joint effusion, and joint sepsis seen with point-of-care ultrasound.
  • Apply ultrasound diagnostic criteria to evaluate soft tissue abscess and joint effusion.
  • Increase confidence to incorporate protocols, techniques & interpretation criteria to improve soft tissue diagnostic/treatment accuracy.

Physicians, Sonographers, PAs, NPs and other medical professionals involved with performing and/or interpreting point-of-care ultrasound examinations of abscess and joint effusion.
