Through our Joint Providership Program, we partner with organizations, societies, medical groups, and healthcare institutions to co-sponsor CME activities that align with our mission of improving patient care through education.

What is Joint Providership?

Joint Providership allows a non-accredited entity to offer CME activities that provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ in partnership with an accredited provider like GCUS. We ensure your course, conference, or educational event meets the rigorous ACCME standards, providing full administrative, educational, and compliance support.

CME joint providership is a partnership where an ACCME-accredited provider, like Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute (GCUS), collaborates with an eligible, non-accredited organization to offer CME credit(s) for their activities. GCUS ensures accreditation compliance, while the partner provides content expertise to deliver accredited continuing medical education.
If your organization is considered to be an "eligible" company as defined by the ACCME, your organization can partner with Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute for joint providership. We manage ACCME compliance, credit designation, and certificates, allowing your non-accredited organization to deliver expert content and logistics for accredited CME activities. Partnering with GCUS for joint providership allows your organization to award AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ without needing to go through the process of becoming independently accredited by the ACCME. Key benefits include our robust accreditation infrastructure, expert compliance oversight, and streamlined certificate management in the most cost effective manner.
GCUS joint providership supports various formats, including live CME courses, online modules, blended/hybrid learning, medical conferences, and grand rounds. Enduring Materials (self directed activities) can also be Jointly Sponsored for a period of up to 3 years. All activities must adhere to any and all GCUS and ACCME accreditation criteria, standards and policies. While the process of ACCME accreditation can be a daunting task, utilizing the process of joint providership with GCUS' expert guidance, we will ease the burden and ensure that your CME activity is planned, developed, and implemented in compliance with all expectations.
To apply for joint providership, Complete the Form at the bottom of this page or contact Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute at (727) 363-4500. Our team of accreditation experts will evaluate your educational goals, review your proposed CME content, and outline the partnership requirements and associated fees. After reviewing the application, we will schedule a phone/virtual conference to review an questions and outline the requestions and process moving forward. Once formally approved, a GCUS accreditation specialist will be available to guide your organization throughout the planning process, required documentation, and implementing the actual CME activity.
Joint providership CME activities must strictly follow ALL ACCME rules, policies, and accreditation criteria, including the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence. This includes verifying you are considered an "eligible" company/ogranization, identifying practice gaps, setting measurable learning objectives, using qualified faculty who do not have relevant financial relationships with ineligible companies, ensuring balanced and scientificly backed content, properly managing commercial support and any conflicts of interest. All marketing materials and activity content will also be reviewed by GCUS to ensure compliance.
No, although Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute offers customized support and guidance, including comprehensive content review for joint providership activities, the joint provider typically plans and develops the activity, including the content . Depending on your needs, we may provide educational design assistance, faculty recommendations, etc. to ensure your CME program meets accreditation standards.
To ensure that your activity is planned and implemented according to ACCME guidelines, you should contact GCUS no less than 3 to 4 months before your anticipated CME activity date, although we reccommend at least 6 months. This timeframe ensures sufficient time for application submission & review, thorough content review, compliance documentation submission, and accreditation processing, and guidance throughout your planning process. This will also ensure that you will still have time to market your activity as an accredited activity. We definitely recommend earlier outreach for complex or multi-session programs.
Joint providership fees with GCUS vary depending on the CME activity's type, duration, complexity, and the level of support you require. Please contact us directly for a customized quote tailored to your specific educational program and partnership needs.
YES, if you have multiple CME activities that you wish to offer as accredited education, Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute can accredited all eligible activities. Each activity will be processed individually and will require it's own documentation. Depending on the activity format, GCUS will guide you through the process from start to finish. For more complex courses, please contact GCUS to discuss.
