Objectives

  • Perform ultrasound evaluation of the abdominal aorta, renal, spleen, and hepatobiliary systems.
  • Demonstrate scan protocols for focused evaluation of GYN and first trimester OB.
  • Perform focused cardiac ultrasound and recognize normal echo findings.
  • State an algorithm for uses of bedside ultrasound for shock & hypotension.
  • Demonstrate protocols for ultrasound evaluation of the lung.
  • Outline protocol for focused evaluation of DVT.
  • Differentiate normal/abnormal image characteristics of the adult heart, abdomen, first trimester OB, and ectopic pregnancy.
  • Increase competence to incorporate protocols, scan techniques, and interpretation criteria into clinical practice.
