Objectives

  • Recognize the sonographic appearance of the median nerve and branches
  • Identify normal anatomy during neuromuscular ultrasound imaging.
  • Demonstrate the scanning techniques, imaging optimization, and sonographic appearance of the median nerve at the level of the axilla, proximal and mid arm, antecubital fossa, distal forearm, and hand and wrist areas.

Physicians, PA’s, NP’s sonographers and other medical professionals who will be involved with performing and/or interpreting peripheral nerve ultrasound examinations. Physicians may include (but is not limited to) neurology, pain medicine, PM & R, sports medicine, and radiology.
