Course Description

Successfully prepare for the RPVI exam with the leaders in ultrasound continuing medical education.  Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute has 30 years of experience providing rpvi ultrasound registry review courses and our participants have enjoyed an 90% success pass rate based on post-course surveys.
This 2-day comprehensive RPVI exam review is taught by leading vascular ultrasound experts and designed for physicians preparing to take the ARDMS Physician in Vascular Interpretation (PVI) board examination. The course is based on the ARDMS PVI examination content outline and is structured with exam specific tutorials, interactive case study scenarios and multiple “mock” examinations using an audience response system.

Course Objectives & Itinerary
Upon completion of the program, the participant should be able to:
  1. Increase the participant’s knowledge to better interpret vascular ultrasound exams.
  2. Analyze Doppler/Color physics factors that affect optimal Doppler examinations and commonly seen Doppler/Color artifacts, which may affect diagnostic accuracy.
  3. Differentiate normal/abnormal imaging, spectral Doppler & Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral arterial and venous disease.
  4. List the role of indirect testing in the evaluation of lower extremity arterial/venous disease.
  5. Interpret complex carotid and peripheral vascular case studies in an interactive interpretation session format.
  6. Recognize the role of ultrasound for vascular intervention procedures.
  7. Outline ultrasound findings associated with aortic endograft leaks.
  8. Differentiate normal and abnormal spectral Doppler characteristics and diagnostic criteria associated with abdominal visceral evaluation and dialysis access graft evaluation.
  9. Cite the role of TCD vascular ultrasound and analysis of TCD exam findings.
  10. Identify areas of weakness to better prepare for the RPVI examination.
