Dr. Nelson is the Director of Emergency Ultrasound, the Vice Chair of Education, and Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship program at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn [pronounced ICON] School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and also has his RDMS credentials.
He has authored several books on point of care ultrasound in addition to numerous book chapters, articles and other publications. He has lectured on ultrasound and emergency medicine throughout the world
He is actively involved in a number of professional societies and has served on the Board of Director for WINFOCUS and also chair of AIUM ’s Emergency and Critical Care Community of Practice.
Dr. Nelson continues to be recognized for his contributions to the field of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound. Harvard Medical School, Mount Sinai, ACEP and SAEM have granted him awards for teaching.
