    Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity the learner should be able to:

    • Increase knowledge and competence to perform peripheral nerve ultrasound of the foot/ankle.
    • List important principles of peripheral nerve sonography scanning techniques.
    • Identify the sonographic appearance of peripheral nerves.
    • State the methods of assessing peripheral nerves innervating the foot and ankle.
    • Apply diagnostic criteria for assessing pathology of the nerves affecting the foot and ankle.
    Target Audience
    Physicians, sonographers, PAs and NPs, and other medical professionals who are involved with performing and/or interpreting musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations. Physician participants may include (but are not limited to) radiology, sports medicine, orthopedics, rheumatology, internal medicine, family practice, emergency medicine, PM and R, and physiatrist.
