Ideal for the sonologist or sonographer who has a desire to either assess interpretation skill level, prepare for the ultrasound registry examination, or obtain required CME credit. Assessment of the participant’s ability to recognize commonly seen pathology and accurately interpret examinations is achieved by reviewing case studies. The case studies provide a brief history/physical, multiple ultrasound images and video loops of related pathology.
Objectives & Topics
Abdominal Ultrasound Case Studies

An excellent review and self-assessment tool for recognizing abdominal pathology. These CDs (Volumes 1 and 2) are ideal for the sonologist or sonographer who has a desire to either assess interpretation skill level, prepare for the ultrasound registry examination, or obtain required CME credit. The programs are also the perfect curriculum supplement for ultrasound educators (site licenses are available).

Assessment of the participant’s ability to recognize commonly seen pathology and accurately interpret examinations is achieved by reviewing case studies. The case studies provide a brief history/physical, multiple ultrasound images and video loops of related pathology. At the end of each case study, a formal interpretation is provided with a brief explanation of the findings. In addition, each CD includes a final quiz to identify areas that may require further study, and to submit for CME credit (additional processing fee).

Volume 2 of the Abdominal Sonography Case Studies Interactive CD includes:

  • 20 case studies with patient history/physical exam presented in real-time videoclips and still images
  • A 15 question quiz to test your ability to recognize pathology and accurately interpret abdominal examinations!
Upon completion of this program the participant should be able to:
  1. List sonographic characteristics associated with commonly seen diseases of the liver.
  2. Cite diagnostic criteria associated with the ultrasound evaluation of gallbladder disease and contiguous anatomy.
  3. Identify and state areas of weakness that may require further study.
