Upon completion of this video activity, the viewer should be able to accomplish the following:

  3. Recognize ultrasound characteristics associated with hemothorax, pleural effusion and hemoperitoneum.
  4. Perform ultrasound evaluation of pneumothorax.
  5. List common pitfalls associated with trauma ultrasound.
  6. Outline the key clinical pathways for trauma evaluation.
Target Audience
Emergency, trauma, critical care, internal medicine and family practice physicians who will be involved with performing and interpreting ultrasound examinations. Physicians may include (but are not limited to) emergency medicine, critical care, family medicine, internal medicine and radiology.
