Course Description
Increase your knowledge and competence to perform and/or interpret Carotid Duplex ultrasound examination and upper and lower Peripheral Vascular ultrasound examinations. Courses includes lectures, interactive case presentations and extensive hands-on training with 3:1 participant to instructor ratio featuring live models for a realistic training experience. Topics include: Doppler/Color Fundamentals, anatomy/physiology, carotid scan techniques and protocols, normal spectral Doppler and imaging characteristics, carotid stenosis assessment. The Peripheral Vascular segment includes upper and lower extremity arterial and venous anatomy/physiology, scan techniques, examination protocols, normal and abnormal image and Spectral Doppler characteristics, and diagnostic criteria for interpretation of case studies. The combined course includes review of 140+ interactive case studies. This live five-day course is designed for sonographers, physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners interested in learning how to perform and/or interpret Carotid Duplex ultrasound examination and upper and lower Peripheral Vascular ultrasound examinations. Physician participants may include internal medicine, cardiology, radiology, general, vascular surgery family medicine, neurologist and other related medical professionals.
