Objectives: Upon completion of an activity, the participant should be able to (depending on topic selected):

  1. Demonstrate routine scan protocols for performing a clinically relevant carotid duplex/color ultrasound examination.
  2. Identify normal image characteristics of the CCA, ICA, ECA, vertebral, and subclavian arteries.
  3. Classify plaque characteristics.
  4. Recognize normal spectral Doppler and color characteristics of the CCA, bifurcation, ICA ECA, vertebral and subclavian arteries.
  5. Apply standardized routine measurements as outlined by the SRU consensus criteria for the evaluation of carotid duplex/color flow examinations.
