Course Itinerary
Course Objectives:
At the completion of the program the participant should be able to:
- State the indications and applications for performing an ultrasound evaluation of the fetal heart.
- Identify ultrasound anatomy of the fetal heart and cardiac physiology.
- Demonstrate a routine protocol for an ultrasound evaluation of the fetal heart.
- List standard 2D documentation included in a routine ultrasound evaluation of the fetal heart.
- Describe commonly seen fetal heart pathology.
- Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret an ultrasound evaluation of the fetal heart.
- Perform a fetal heart screening under supervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has been achieved.

- Fetal cardiac anatomy/physiology
- 4 Chamber: Basic Cardiac Ultrasound exam: 10 point checklist
- The “Extended Basic Cardiac Ultrasound Exam"
- Identifying outflow tracts/great vessels
- Detecting CHD using basic and extended basic views
- Live demonstration
- Hands-on workshop sessions
