Two Lunch-Hour Workshops. First Day: Dialysis Access Graft Evaluation. Second Day: Renal Doppler Ultrasound. Workshops include box lunch. No additional fees to attend.

Objectives. At the completion of the course, you should be able to:

  1. Discuss Doppler/Color physics, factors affecting optimal Doppler examinations and commonly seen Doppler/Color artifacts, which may affect diagnostic accuracy.
  2. Explain routine scan protocols and analyze normal spectral waveform signatures, color characteristics, and Doppler  measurements in a normal carotid and peripheral vascular examinations.
  3. Recognize abnormal spectral Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral arterial and venous disease.
  4. Discuss the role of indirect testing in the evaluation of lower extremity arterial disease.
  5. Apply diagnostic criteria for evaluation of carotid, peripheral venous and arterial disease.
  6. Review complex carotid and peripheral vascular case studies in interactive interpretation session format.
  7. Describe ultrasound findings associated with aortic endograft leaks.
  8. Describe normal and abnormal spectral Doppler characteristics and diagnostic criteria associated with renal artery evaluation
  9. Explain normal and abnormal spectral Doppler characteristics and diagnostic criteria associated with dialysis access graft evaluation.
  10. Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret vascular ultrasound examinations.
