Target Audience
Physicians and sonographers with a minimum of six-months experience performing and/or interpreting adult echocardiography exams. Physician participants may include (but are not limited to) those involved with Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Radiology, and Electrophysiology.
Objectives
After viewing this presentation, the participant should be able to:
- Describe the mechanisms, clinical classification of severity, and methods of treatment for heart failure patients.
- Determine the use of echocardiography to assess left ventricular function in heart failure patients.
- Explain the use of M-mode, pulsed-wave and continuous wave Doppler, including tissue Doppler imaging, to determine left ventricular electromechanical function
