This DVD program features a live presentation and discussion of commonly seen carotid disease and complex case studies. Ten case studies are discussed with a detailed explanation of the duplex/color flow characteristics and how to apply current diagnostic criteria to the examination findings.
At the completion of the program, the participant will be able to:
- Recognize the presentation of complex pathologies encountered during
- Explain the differences in carotid waveforms indicative of proximal versus distal cerebrovascular disease.
- List common problems that lead to limited carotid studies.
- Describe common pitfalls involved with performance of the carotid ultrasound exam.
Target Audience
The target audience for this tape are physicians, sonographers, and medical professionals who are involved with performing and/or interpreting carotid duplex examinations. Physician participants may include (but are not limited to) radiologists, internal medicine, cardiologists, general/vascular surgeons, and emergency medicine practitioners.
