Since 1985 Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute has provided continuing education ultrasound training programs and self-directed study products for the ultrasound profession. Over the years, more than 25,000 sonographers, physicians, and other medical professionals have participated in our regularly scheduled seminars dedicated to diagnostic ultrasound. On-going efforts are made in research and development to identify the needs of the medical professional to provide innovative teaching methods for enhancing your level of knowledge and professional growth.

Gulfcoast Ultrasound is committed to helping you to keep up with, and benefit from, the rapid changes taking place in healthcare today and in the future. We have expanded and enhanced the programs offered to help you meet these healthcare challenges in a stress free, timely manner. We will continue to offer our quality introductory-level programs and also provide you with increased choices of interpretation, introductory and advanced level programs at locations through-out the United States. Our "CME SOLUTIONS", one-day specialty DVD/VHS lectures provide savings in time and money for obtaining required CME credits, and enhance your skill level, in a convenient location near you. You also will benefit from improvements in job performance which will assist you with obtaining the professional recognition you deserve! 2007 will also provide you with new education products to help you maintain, enhance, and/or increase your level of knowledge, all in the comfort of your home. Regardless of your choice, we are committed to providing superior continuing education in a relaxed, highly personal atmosphere.

Introductory level programs are designed to meet the needs of the novice medical professional cross-training into ultrasound by supplementing "on-the-job" supervised instruction, as well as the experienced sonographer needing to become adept in another specialty (and learn it right the first time!)

Intermediate level programs assist the sonographer and physician to accelerate the process of reaching an accepted level of proficiency in performing and interpreting examinations.

Advanced level programs are designed for the more experienced medical professional who may be interested in understanding advancements in ultrasound technology and applying new techniques for increased diagnostic capabilities.

The interpretation seminars enable greater focus on recognizing pathology and understanding the specific interpretation criteria for accurate diagnosis. Attendance by physicians and sonographers allows everyone involved in the ultrasound examination to be aware of technical artifacts and other potential diagnostic errors which can be made. This knowledge will increase the ability for everyone to work together as a "team" in determining the correct diagnosis.

All of the introductory, intermediate, and advanced level programs consist of lectures, case presentations, and generous hands-on sessions. Numerous educational resources are available through our video, computer, and textbook learning centers when the participants are not scheduled for lectures or scanning. Several self-assessment examinations are also provided to assist you with identifying your individual strengths and weaknesses. By utilizing various teaching methods and techniques, we are able to ensure your educational objectives are met or exceeded. The teaching faculty includes various staff and guest speakers who are nationally recognized. Experienced, registered sonographers who are keenly aware of state-of-the-art equipment and techniques provide the hands-on instruction, which is tailored to the individual's specific needs.

Several major brands of equipment are utilized during the courses to allow student familiarization with equipment they will use on the job. Private group programs are also available for scheduling either at our facility or away. MAKE THE COMMITMENT TO PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL EXCELLENCE... We invite you to participate in one of our continuing education programs. We are confident you will agree the education and experience obtained will ultimately allow you to provide increased quality patient care while at the same time expand your skill level to excel in your professional career. The reality? KNOWLEDGE IS POWERFUL MEDICINE!
